Marketing Postcards for Your Biz | business postcard marketing in MD

In Clients, Marketing Pieces, Print Design on June 2, 2008

After completing the In Touch Physical Therapy website, I was asked to design a postcard that could be sent to clients OR used as a take-away card in the office. To continue with company recognition, we designed the postcard to have a similar look and feel as the website. The In Touch Physical Therapy logo anchors the text and therapy images used on the front and back of the card. Postcards can be designed and printed in color, black and white or both. Many clients prefer to have a glossy color front and do a simple matte finish with grayscale on the back, but the decision is entirely up to you and what your needs are for each piece. Turn around time for design and printing is just a few weeks and can be rushed upon request.

Baby on the Way | maternity and belly photos in maryland

In Clients, Maternity & Belly on May 28, 2008

There’s something so special and magical about photographing a man and woman who are expecting a baby. If it’s their first child, they radiate a glow of unfamiliar anticipation and excitement. If it is not their first child, the parents have a sense of calmness and while big brother or big sister show pure joy and wonder. It’s wonderful to be able to capture those precious moments for others.

I like to do belly shots about a month out from the due date. Mom’s skin radiates and the belly is nice and round. Schedule your Belly and Baby sessions at the same time to ensure priority and receive a discount.

This new Mom was very comfortable in her beautiful maternity body and I’m so thankful she allowed me to share a few of the photos (I’m completely respectful and understanding when a woman asks me not to share them as they can be very private and personal). I think we captured several keepers for this Mom and Dad! I’m anxious to meet Baby L. in a few weeks!

Snappy Business: In Touch Physical Therapy | small business web site and logo design

In Clients, Logo Design, Online Design, Web Site Design on May 23, 2008

I recently completed a web site for a physical therapy business in Silver Spring, Maryland. In Touch Physical Therapy is owned and operated by Arden Wilkins, a therapist who offers top-notch physical therapy with a strong focus on individualized patient care.

The design began with creating a business logo. This step is essential in establishing your business identity as your logo is used for all marketing and branding, so it absolutely has to happen first. Once we finalized the logo, we were able to use those colors when designing the web site. All programming, layout and design is handled by Sophatography, BUT it does require communication back and forth with the client to ensure the site is developing in the right direction.

Many clients choose to have Sophatography handle setting-up web hosting for their small business, domain registration as well as maintenance. I recognize that all client’s are unique, so services are customized to fit your needs.

Oh Little One … | on location newborn photography

In Children, Clients, Snap of the Week on April 22, 2008

It’s always best to photograph newborns within the first couple weeks of life when their little bodies are still moldable! That’s not to say you can’t get great shots several months after birth … they are just different! Here are a few cute ones from a recent session (Okay - they are from March! I’m way behind in my blogging).

Mr. Handsome Will Be Turning 1! | child event photography and portraits in VA

In Children, Clients on March 3, 2008

I spent the afternoon with Mr. Handsome. Behind the black and white are the biggest blue eyes I’ve ever seen. Actually, I’ve seen them before on this little guy in December when we were taking holiday photos. Today we were shooting more photographs for keepsakes and for his special birthday invitation (check back in a few weeks for the finished product).

Although quite a few of the cards I create are during the holidays, I also design birthday invitations, birth announcements and thank you cards. These personalized cards can be created with photographs from a Signature Photo Session or images you submit. I love the feedback my clients share with me after they’ve sent out their cards! Let me know if there’s something I can design for you!

Have a great week everyone!

Emily

I’m happy to be here … (on location child photography in annapolis, md)

In Children, Clients on December 21, 2007

BUT … you’re not going to get smiles out of me very easily! I could read his mind. He smiled with his eyes and every once and a while gave me a little smirk. What beautiful big blue eyes and such a calming nature. I love photographing this little one …

Holiday Smiles (holiday portraits of children and pets in MD)

In Children, Clients on December 19, 2007

It’s a week before Christmas and I’ve finally caught up on all of my holiday sessions! They were so much fun this year as many of the families I’ve photographed before and was able to see how their children have grown through the year. There were also several new families who added so many new smiles to my season. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to capture those memories for you!

I wanted to share a few of the images that have be spreading holiday joy …

Puppy Love (on location child and pet photography in bowie, md)

In Children, Clients, Pets on November 30, 2007

Photographs make wonderful holiday gifts for your family and friends. Mom arranged to have these photos taken of her son and the family boxer as a gift for her husband. We laughed as we were shooting as everyone expected the older boxer to be the easy one to position, BUT it turned out she was so excited to have her picture taken she could hardly sit still! I think Dad is going to be very surprised when he opens this gift from his two babies …

Congratulations Grad! (high school senior photos in crofton MD)

In Clients, Seniors on October 27, 2007

Well … congratulations on making it through this photo session! It’s late October and we were outside shooting in sunshine and 70 degrees .. perfect! I really enjoyed meeting this senior and his Mom. I’m usually on the ground snapping pics of toddlers so this was a nice change of pace. I only had to do my duck voice one time for a smile. :)

I thought a couple of these photos would look good as a Signature Print. I choose “Cool Tones” and “Fade In” which feel more appropriate for a Senior rather than the “Color Hints” or “Imagine” signatures.

Enjoy!

Snaps of the Week: Little June Bug (Part 2) (newborn photography in annapolis, MD)

In Children, Clients, Snap of the Week on June 22, 2007

Mommy and Daddy were overjoyed with the arrival of Baby K.! I was elated too, as I was able to take some of the first photographs of the little bug. I met the couple at the hospital after the birth and then a few days later for a home session. I like to photograph newborns within in a few weeks of birth when they are alert, but still tiny and less wiggly!

And here are a couple from home where I finally was able to capture a few with his eyes open …

Such a little wrinkle, isn’t he? Adorable. I’m looking forward to watching (and photographing!) him as he grows …

THANK YOU!
