Joe’s Shanghai in NYC’s Chinatown | food photography

The Snap of the Week is of an amazing little piece of Chinatown-heaven … a soup dumpling from Joe’s Shanghai in NYC. My friend Betsy introduced me to these little purses of Chinatown-heaven on Saturday and I honestly didn’t think I would be able to leave the place not knowing when I would be back. The dumplings are filled with a small ball of pork and meaty, rich juices (the “soup”). The proper way to eat the dumplings are to put one on your spoon … poke a hole so the juices run out … slurp the juice … then eat the rest of the dumpling. It was hard to think about eating anything but these, BUT the other food proved to be very good as well. If you ever find yourself in NYC’s Chinatown and are looking for a great place eat, you MUST give Joe’s soup dumplings a try!
